We were talking about our objectives, what we did, what happened, and why. It's one way to learn from each other, share, discuss. That's how I feel about it, anyway; I hope you feel like that. The highlight was the Web Searching Activity that I love very much!I've shared some useful sites on Search Engines Webskills Wiki Winter 2013.From all the things I learned during this week I have to mention the
search engines first as I was absolutely amazed by the endless list.
Useful and so well-fit for particular search needs as the engines
obviously are. So, I have to say a
big thank you to Robert and everyone involved. It really helps a lot with teaching . It was nostalgic reading about Bloom's Taxonomy. As though I use it since 2008, it was good to read about. My students works in groups, in pairs and I use different sites to motivate them. The ABCD approach can be very practical in teaching. It was new for me.Those 4 items should be the basis of any lesson plan. We also got ready to start our final project by describing
our class. Many participants of our course described the general educational system
of their country. It was a good idea. I decided to present my students the way
I felt it was better. I hope my colleagues liked it.
Finally I’d like to share with you something I use with my
students. I love discussing local, national, and international news.I use www.iearn.com widely.I take part in different kinds of International projects with my students here. You can see about "International Projects" section of my another blog: http://www.ismaillycitysecondaryschool1.blogspot.com/p/projects.html . In my opinion, this week was fruitful too.
Dear Peri, yes, I like your expression which you used to describe the previous week - fruitful. I also think the part with the search engines and so many useful links that all participants came up with and completet the nicenet entry with links + ideas + experiences is absolutely interesting to read. Mostly I ended up reading, reading, reading and forgot to watch the time. Thanks for the link iearn.com which I already knew. I like listening to the bbc news site and especially to listen-to-english-com. Go to archive and choose a podcast with tapescript. Mostly I use it as homework, prepare question and force students to train: listening, speaking, writing, producing texts, learning new words, train exact pronunciation. I like the author's humour and the learners do it too. best Brigitte
I like your reflections because, in your blog, you covered almost all the different key activities we have been going through this week, especially the ABCD method which should be "the basis of any lesson plan" in your words. What you said is true, because any good lesson needs clear objectives that will facilitate the teaching for the teacher, the comprehension of the lesson for the student and the evaluation.
Thank you for having shared your second blog with us, a blog that deals with "International Projects."
Hi Brigitte, I'm glad to hear from you again. Thanks for your comments.I think our students need to train by podcasts with tapescrips, especially for pronunciation.Listening to nativei speakers is productive and useful for our kids. Best Regards, Peri
Welcome Dagnogo, Nice to see you here too. Thanks for your comments! The second week comes to its end. It was so lovely for me. I want to say that net is a very deep ocean, and what I got now is a very tiny drop and I am eager to know more, learn, explore and I will share my knowledge with others. I hope to teach my new ideas in the class to my students. My school has selected "E-School" and next year we'll work with ICT more widely than now.
Hi Peri: Fruitful and busy, we can probably say. Thanks for sharing the blog page with your international projects. There is a lot to explore there. -Robert
